♟️ Future Chess Stars in Action! ♟️
The Co-op hosted a 3rd and 4th grade chess tournament on Tuesday, April 7th—and it was a huge success! This event was extra special because it was the first tournament for every single player. What an exciting way to get started!
We were excited to have students participate from Woodlawn, Drew Central, Monticello, Hermitage, and McGehee, making it a great day of competition and connection across our area.
All students played 7 matches, showing focus, determination, and a willingness to learn throughout the day. We are so proud of each participant for stepping up to the challenge!
🏆 Congratulations to our top finishers:
• 1st Place: Carter Cameron (Drew Central) – perfect 7-0 record!
• 2nd Place: Isaac Young (Woodlawn) – 6 wins
• 3rd Place: John David Wylie (Drew Central) – 5 wins
A huge thank you to Hope and Company Realty—especially Hope Hartness and Brandi Eubanks—for sponsoring our winners with gift cards to Sonic Drive-In!
These students did an incredible job, and we can’t wait to see how they continue to grow as chess players. ♟️
