The Southeast Arkansas Education Service Cooperative hosted a Girl Power Goes State competition on February 12, 2025. Winners in the metal category include Cora Barrington, who received first place, and Yuridia Manriquez, who placed second, with both girls attending Hamburg High School. Laura Lucas from Rison received first place in the wood category, and Lyndsy Myers from Crossett received second place. From Rison, Avery Lindsey received first place in the multi-tool category. Addie Carter from Drew Central received the People's Choice Award, voted on by the other contestants, stakeholders, and staff. Lakeside, McGehee, and Star City students also participated in the event.
